Reclining your seat is still one of the most controversial actions on planes.
Should you recline your seat when flying? This question seems to have no answer that receives complete consensus from passengers.
On one hand, many passengers argue that it is a normal action. The recline feature on planes exists to serve passengers.
On the other hand, the remaining passengers assert that this will cause discomfort for the person sitting behind. Reclining the seat narrows the sitting space of the person behind.

According to a recent survey by Kayak, 88% of travelers believe that the recline feature was created for a reason and are still happy when someone reclines their seat on the plane. The survey was conducted from June 7, 2023, to June 12, 2023, with the participation of 1,000 frequent flyers over the past three years.
Recently, a video capturing a heated argument between two passengers on a plane garnered a lot of attention after being posted. Specifically, after reclining her seat, a woman was repeatedly kicked by the female passenger behind her throughout the flight.
“She kicked my seat the entire trip. You saw that. You know she did that.” Standing up from her seat, the girl behind shouted: “I have the right to reclaim my space.”

Ian Miles Cheong - the person who posted the video wrote: “You can’t keep kicking someone’s seat just because you want more space.”
Many netizens also supported the passenger reclining her seat: “If the seat can recline, then recline it,” "You are allowed to do that... The recline button is there for a reason."
Conversely, many people believe that there is an unwritten rule that passengers should avoid reclining their seats during short flights. Some travelers argue that airlines should be responsible for this issue. Many assert that airlines should completely eliminate this inconvenient feature to avoid tense disputes.
