Tra Vinh invests over 4 billion VND in developing a smart tourism application.

The Department of Information Technology and Communications, the Department of Information and Communications, along with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tra Vinh Province organized a seminar on digital technology enterprises to support the promotion of tourism development.

At the seminar on the morning of November 23, participants were provided with a lot of information through presentations about the role of digital technology enterprises in promoting tourism development.
In addition, the conference raised several issues that require the participation of digital technology enterprises to boost tourism development in Tra Vinh and to cooperate in promoting smart tourism development in the Mekong Delta region.

Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Lâm Hữu Phúc - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tra Vinh Province - informed that, in the general trend, the tourism industry is proactively digitizing, accessing, and participating in the 4th industrial revolution.
According to Mr. Phúc, in the coming time, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to advise on building programs and projects on digital transformation, applying 4.0 technology in tourism development for approval by competent authorities, specifying the direction and roadmap for digital transformation in the tourism sector.
Advising the Provincial People's Committee of Tra Vinh, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued many plans to accelerate the overall digital transformation speed of the entire province. This includes building a smart tourism application software system for Tra Vinh Province, with a total project investment of about 4.2 billion VND.
“To ensure effective digital transformation, there must be awareness and dynamic thinking, along with the consensus and cooperation of many stakeholders; among which, the role of digital technology enterprises is very important,” Mr. Phúc emphasized.

In Tra Vinh Province, there are currently 128 lodging establishments (including 3 guest houses, 9 2-star hotels, 12 1-star hotels, 5 homestays, and 99 establishments meeting tourism accommodation business standards); 1 shopping center and 15 restaurants combining local specialties and souvenirs; 1 international travel company and 8 domestic travel companies.
