The pedestrian street around Hoan Kiem Lake no longer has stalls or fairs that affect the environment and the safety of residents and tourists.

According to the report from Lao Dong on November 5, the sidewalks surrounding Hoan Kiem Lake are free of stalls and fairs. Residents can fully enjoy the space of the lake without being blocked or restricted by stalls as in previous weekends.
The atmosphere around the lake is also quieter, without the loudspeakers from programs affecting the surroundings. Events at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square are no longer crowded or noisy, impacting the area.
On the pavement, there are only a few stalls selling artistic portrait paintings or traditional toys ( tò he) in the Hoan Kiem area to promote culture and art, which do not occupy much space or disturb the neighboring areas.

Mr. Tran Van Hao (33 years old, Hai Ba Trung, Hanoi) often brings his family here on weekends so that his children have a play area, but the frequent events attract many tourists, limiting the space somewhat.
“I hope that the pedestrian street around Hoan Kiem Lake will regain its tranquility and the beauty it once had,” said Mr. Hao.
Le Duy Hung (20 years old, Long Bien, Hanoi) feels satisfied with the quiet and fresh space at Hoan Kiem Lake where he can work and chat with friends without being disturbed by loudspeakers.

The Hoan Kiem District People's Committee previously sent a request to the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports to arrange activities in the pedestrian area around Hoan Kiem Lake, limiting unsuitable stall activities in the area.
At the same time, they only allow organized stall activities related to cultural and sports activities, with stalls designed to ensure aesthetics, not affecting the landscape, environment, and safety of the residents, ensuring security and fire safety in the Hoan Kiem area.

According to the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, this year, events have been quite lively in the pedestrian area of Hoan Kiem Lake and the surrounding area with a large density.
The culture sector estimates that about 170 events have been organized in the pedestrian street of Hoan Kiem Lake and nearby. Among them, there are up to 31 artistic programs, 33 sports events, and 13 international events.
In fact, many programs have not complied with regulations, using loudspeakers with high volume, causing noise conflicts. This has affected the common space of the pedestrian street and the residents living around.
Furthermore, many fairs with stalls have not ensured hygiene, and sales methods still lack order, causing littering, which detracts from the aesthetics of the lake area and its surroundings.
For the time being, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports recommends halting the organization of display, advertisement, and sales fairs for consumer goods serving daily life in the pedestrian space around Hoan Kiem Lake and nearby.
Moreover, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports will also coordinate with the Hoan Kiem District People's Committee to strengthen inspection and supervision work, implementing decisive and thorough solutions against cultural and sports event organizers who do not comply with the regulations of the law.
