Lang Son
Mount Mau Son is a famous destination for snow hunting. From December to January, the temperature can drop below 0 degrees Celsius. During heavy cold spells, the amount of snowfall can be significant, sometimes 2-3cm thick, covering the mountains and forests completely in white. However, many tourists are not deterred by the cold, coming here to seek snow and create valuable memories in winter.

Son La
In 2016, Moc Chau and Van Ho district experienced snowfall and frost. However, the snow here does not accumulate too thick. If tourists want to be sure of seeing snow, this is not the ideal place. But when the plateau is covered in frost or ice, the scenery also takes on an oddly captivating charm for visitors.

Ha Giang
Dong Van, Meo Vac, or Lung Cu are places with a high average altitude and steep temperature drops in winter, so they can welcome snowfalls, even though they are often brief. When cold air masses move into the North, usually at the end of December, young people often invite each other to Ha Giang to enjoy the icy cold of the highlands and try their luck in hunting snow.

In addition to spots like Dong Van and Meo Vac, there is also a place in Ha Giang where snow can often be encountered, which is Tay Con Linh. Located at an altitude of 2,419m above sea level, this mountain peak is extremely cold in winter.
Visitors will have the opportunity to admire ice covering every branch and blade of grass, creating an impressive scene no less than foreign tourist destinations. However, a top priority is to ensure personal safety. Professional trekkers always rate the road to Tay Con Linh as "legendary" due to its difficulty and danger, especially in harsh weather conditions.
Cao Bang
The best coordinates for hunting snow or frost in Cao Bang is Phja Oac Peak. Frost has previously appeared on this peak, which is 1,938m tall, in 2022 when temperatures dropped to -5 degrees Celsius. In addition, Phja Da Peak and highland hamlets such as Vai Non and Ca Dam in Hong An commune, Bao Lac district, are also places where visitors can enjoy dense frost when the weather is very cold.

Lao Cai
One of the famous places where snow is often mentioned is Lao Cai, especially Fansipan, Sa Pa, and Y Ty. Depending on the year, there may or may not be snow, but most of the time snow here falls for only a few hours on the coldest days.

Quang Ninh
Quang Ninh is perhaps a place that few people think of as a snow-hunting destination. However, tourists can completely encounter the fairy-tale-like scene of snow covering the sacred Yen Tu mountain or the mountainous district of Binh Lieu.
