The authorities have apprehended inmate Mai Văn Đệ (33 years old, residing in Hải Giang commune, Hải Hậu district, Nam Định province) who escaped from prison, hijacked a taxi, and hid in the forest.
On the afternoon of April 3rd, the leader of the Hà Trung district police in Thanh Hóa province informed that they had captured Mai Văn Đệ who had fled from detention center No. 5, and subsequently hijacked a taxi to escape into the Tam Quy beech forest area (part of the Tam Quy nature reserve).

"We mobilized hundreds of police officers to deploy plans to surround and capture him in the Tam Quy beech forest area. Around 4:45 PM, we managed to apprehend the inmate and escort him to the Hà Đông commune police station," the leader of Hà Trung district police reported.

On April 3rd, according to information from Thanh Hóa province police, the unit issued a notice to search for inmate Mai Văn Đệ (33 years old, residing in Hải Giang commune, Hải Hậu district, Nam Định province) who escaped from detention center No. 5 (under the C10 Department - Ministry of Public Security, located in Thống Nhất town, Yên Định district, Thanh Hóa).

Around 4 PM on April 2nd, while doing labor, Đệ escaped from the facility and moved to Hà Trung district.

After that, Đệ called a taxi driven by Nguyen Van M., 42 years old, from Hà Đông commune, Hà Trung district to transport him to National Highway 1 to flee. When reaching the gas station in Hà Đông commune, Đệ hijacked Mr. M.'s taxi. He left the car in Hà Lĩnh commune, Hà Trung district, Thanh Hóa and then fled into the forest.

Inmate Mai Văn Đệ (33 years old, residing in Hải Hậu district, Nam Định province) is serving a 24-month prison sentence for gambling.
