1. Cat Cat Village

Cat Cat Village is nestled at the foot of Hoàng Liên Mountain, located in the Mường Hoa valley, San Sả Hồ commune, about 2 km from the center of Sa Pa town. This village has developed tourism for a long time, attracting a large number of visitors each year to sightseeing, experiencing the interesting lifestyle and culture of the H'mong people.

You can rent ethnic costumes, transforming into boys and girls from the mountainous region in vibrant clothing. Right at the entrance to Cat Cat Village, there are many rental shops for costumes, with costs around 200,000 VND/set including full accessories.
Wandering around Cat Cat Village, visitors can comfortably buy souvenirs, take photos at the Si bridge spanning the Cat Cat waterfall, the flowing water wheel, rice terraces, and Hoa stream... Entrance tickets to the village cost 90,000 VND/adult, 50,000 VND/child.

2. Sin Chai Village

From Cat Cat Village, after about 2 km, visitors will reach Sin Chai village (or Xín Chải). Although located quite close to each other, tourism activities in Sin Chai are not as bustling as in Cat Cat. This is an ideal place for visitors who do not want to go too far from Sa Pa town but still want to learn about the simple life of the local black H'mong people.

The small wooden houses by the mountainside, showcasing the typical architecture of the H'mong, will amaze anyone. The path into the village is quite narrow, just wide enough for a motorbike to pass through, but it cannot deter the footsteps of adventurous visitors.

3. Lao Chai Village

Lao Chai village is about 7 km from Sa Pa town, home to the Dao, Giáy, and H'mong people. The village is ideally situated, nestled against the Hoàng Liên Sơn mountain range, with the cool Mường Hoa stream in front and surrounded by terraced rice fields undulating in layers.

The paved road to Lao Chai makes it easy for visitors to travel; the mountainous terrain has many winding turns and steep slopes. If traveling by motorbike, visitors will be treated to stunning scenery on both sides of the road and can breathe in the fresh air scented with ripe rice.

4. Ta Van Village

From Lao Chai village, after another 3 km, you will arrive at Ta Van village, home to the Giáy ethnic group and some other minority groups. Tourists often combine a trip to Lao Chai - Ta Van over one to two days.

In this vast space, Ta Van stretches across the Mường Hoa valley, embodying the peaceful, pristine beauty of the mountainous region. The best time to visit is during the water pouring season from April to June and the ripe rice season from late August to September. Visitors can stop by cafes, camping spots halfway up the hill, or in the middle of the terraced rice fields to enjoy the golden season of Sa Pa in Ta Van. Some recommended places are Thuyền Mây, Sailing Coffee, Black & White...
In Ta Van, the homestay service is very developed, making it one of the villages with the most homestays for rent in Sa Pa. Guests can stay overnight to watch the sunrise as the rays of sunlight emerge, or in the evening to see the locals harvesting and burning straw...

5. Giang Ta Chai

Giang Ta Chai village is located in Ta Phin commune, Sa Pa district, perched on a mountain at an altitude of 1,400 m. Giang Ta Chai is divided into H'mong Giang Ta Chai and Dao Giang Ta Chai. From Sa Pa town, to reach Giang Ta Chai, you must travel a distance of 11 km, passing through Lao Chai - Ta Van and the ancient stone field. Some parts of the road are a bit difficult to travel, with rugged pebbles and many winding turns.

With its rugged terrain, the village is surrounded by a unique primary forest covering up to 50 hectares and 30 hectares of regenerated forest. Therefore, this is a location chosen by many foreign tourists for trekking. Visitors will trek along winding paths down to the Mường Hoa valley or climb to the endless hills to reach the bamboo forest, conquering Heart Mountain...

6. Ho Village

Ho Village is located at the end of the Mường Hoa valley, the farthest from Sa Pa town compared to other villages, about 32 km. From Giang Ta Chai, another 23 km leads to Ho village, home to the Tày ethnic group.

Riding through the majestic winding roads to the central village Dền located right on the main road, visitors will encounter the main road leading down to Ho village. The road to the village is very steep and winding with many tricky bends.
The most interesting thing about visiting Ho village is experiencing the hot mineral spring baths along the valley, next to the Mường Hoa stream. The area for bathing in hot mineral springs has been developed by some households into communal and private baths. The price for bathing in hot mineral springs here is quite affordable, starting from 20,000 VND/person.

7. Ta Phin Village

Ta Phin village is nestled in a valley surrounded by mountains, with a fairly wide and flat area, about 12 km from Sa Pa town. This is home to the Red Dao and H'mong ethnic groups. The interesting thing about Ta Phin is that it has quite a few natural caves yet to be explored.
Ta Phin village is the homeland of the famous Red Dao herbal bath leaves. When visiting the village, tourists have the chance to experience fresh herbal baths, buy brocade products, pick strawberries... and enjoy highland specialties. On the way to the village, visitors can visit the ancient Ta Phin monastery, a ruin that many young people come to check-in and take photos.
